when i am trying to do a hand rail it will not let me go any smaller then 1" how can i set it up for like 1/4 of an inch or can i only do it with MM??? thanks Byron

If your units are set to feet and inches - you can set the rail to smaller than 1" using decimal places but it will round the displayed value.
Alternatively
Go to preferences and set the units to inches and use decimal places in your rail dimension. The value will remain without being rounded
