Life in a southern town
Permalink

Hi all - I thought i would start this post off by introducing myself.

I am Sergei. For the past 10 years i have been crafting this tool ViewBuild to be one of the signature software packages. Software that actually makes a difference and for those of you who sell properties to help you make money sooner.

Today in Tasmania it is freezing. One of the coldest days for 20 years. Not as cold as you folks in Colorado have to endure - but for me running doing their business - my toes are almost blue.

Many people wonder where Tasmania is - If you are wondering where myself and TAZ the Tassie Devil come from have a look at a map find australia and find the island to the south. I live in the capital city - Hobart.

More to come

Thanks sergei and today hear Denver it was the hotest 98F 37C. I've got a solution, we need one house here and one house there and when you get here I'll take you to Wichita and we can put our name on a Learjet.

OK guys.  I was just in Wichita (where it was 105f with 70% humidity).  They didn't let me put my name on a Lear Jet and I had to drive home.

Nice to sort of meet you Sergei.  I've heard a great deal about you.  Is that you that did the video for the tutorial?  Awsome stuff.  -Debi

Nice to hear from people....Debi it sounds like you may have needed a bathing suit to survive the humidity...I just took my family and brother to the Gold Coast in Queensland had a fantastic holiday although i was in the surf and a noticed a shark swimming not more than 10 ft away....I have never run so fast.  I told the lifeguard and he said very casually '' Yeah they come out at this time of the afternoon"

Hi,
I am also a new user, having only just discovered this forum.
I am designing a house for Fingal head: A little about where I will live.

http://www.zoomin.com.au/australia/nsw/fingal+head/lagoon+road/

http://www.totaltravel.com.au/travel/nsw/northernrivers/tweedcoast/travel-guides/Destinations/fingal-head.

This is a sleepy sort of place with only 200 residents between the Ocean and the Tweed River.
We are in the middle of a strip of Litorial rain forrest fronting Womin Lagoon. The beach is 70 Yards out the back through the forrest and the lagoon about 15 yards out the front.
Because we are in the forrest there are a few issues with getting winter sun in and keeping the summer heat out (and getting some breezes in)
It is generally subtropical so summers are hot.

One othe first priorities in design was being able to live outside as much as possible.

The house is likely to be in steel and probably a kit home with me being the owner builder.

I am looking forward to some exciting times ahead and will no doubt have many questions on getting the best out of viebuild.
Cheers
Rob

Hi Rob,

Give Dean Baker a call at ECO-FAB they have a sensational steel option - i think you will be impressed (cost effective, architectural house options, roll form steel at kit home prices)  -  3 bedroom house to lock up stage - with skillion roof and decks for around 25,000 to 30K.
